General Settings: overview
The Settings → General section is where you define how your store works in TecPet. It’s the foundation for everything: the establishment’s details, when and who provides service, which species you accept, how pets are classified for billing, and the rules the calendar and service follow.
Changes here affect the whole system — the calendar, pricing, the pet record, automatic WhatsApp messages and even the service AI pull from these screens. It’s worth setting up this area before you start operating, and coming back whenever something changes in the business (new hours, new staff member, new rule).
In this section
Section titled “In this section”- General information — the establishment’s details: name, service WhatsApp, Tax ID, address and store description, which appear on documents and feed notifications and the AI.
- Business hours — when the store is open each day of the week, by segment, with breaks, closed days and the Open 24 Hours option.
- Resources and staff — who provides service in the store, with their own calendar, what each one does, when they work and their system permissions.
- Accepted species and breeds — which species the store serves (dog, cat…) and the breeds of each, which feed the pet record and the calendar filters.
- Billing parameters — the size (weight) and coat ranges the system uses to classify each pet and calculate the price.
- Service checklists — the verification lists the team fills out at each stage of service (scheduled, received, finished, delivered).
- Calendar restrictions — rules that block invalid booking combinations, so the front desk and the AI don’t book what the store doesn’t serve.
- Automatic notifications — the message templates the system sends to the owner over WhatsApp (confirmation, reminder, birthday, financial and more).
- Service recommendations — rules that suggest services automatically based on the pet’s characteristics, in the booking screen and in the chatbot.
What this area controls
Section titled “What this area controls”Think of these screens in three groups:
- How the store operates — General information, Business hours and Resources and staff define identity, when and who provides service;
- What you serve and how much you charge — Species and breeds and Billing parameters define the audience (species/breed) and the classification (size/coat) that becomes price;
- The service rules — Checklists, Calendar restrictions, Automatic notifications and Service recommendations standardize quality, prevent invalid bookings, notify the owner and help you sell more.
Several of these screens work by segment (Pet Shop, Clinic, Daycare/Hotel): if the store serves more than one, configure each tab separately.
